Voltiris installs more than 2,300 modules at Les Champs du Loup near Geneva
A family business growing a heat-sensitive crop
Les Champs du Loup is a family-run greenhouse vegetable business in Bernex, near Geneva, managed by fifth-generation grower Philippe Magnin. The greenhouses mainly grow tomatoes, along with cucumbers, a crop that is particularly sensitive to heat. For Philippe, light is essential for plant growth, so he was initially concerned that installing a system inside the greenhouse could reduce light and affect production.
Cooler leaves, more light, higher yield
Voltiris changed his perspective. In summer 2026, more than 2,300 Voltiris modules were installed inside the greenhouse. The system filters unused infrared light to generate clean electricity while reducing leaf temperature by around 4°C. This allows the grower to use the screens less, which means more light for the crops and, ultimately, a higher yield.
For Philippe, the combination of energy production and heat reduction makes Voltiris a promising step towards more resilient and efficient production.
