Voltiris to power the electrification of Eschbach Gemüsebau in collaboration with Elektra Baselland (EBL)

Eschbach Gemüsebau is a family-run vegetable greenhouse located in Füllinsdorf, Switzerland. Specializing in the cultivation of microleaf crops, the business serves a wide range of customers in the catering and retail sectors, who value the consistent quality of its produce. This high standard requires not only technical expertise but also a deep sensitivity to plant needs.

From the outset, Andreas Eschbach has been a strong supporter of Voltiris’ innovative PV system. The technology not only covers a significant share of the greenhouse’s electricity needs, but also enhances the greenhouse climate—particularly during summer heatwaves—by reducing excess heat.

Elektra Baselland (EBL) operates the Füllinsdorf facility under a contracting agreement. As part of this model, EBL finances, installs, and maintains the Voltiris PV system. Eschbach Gemüsebau benefits from this setup by purchasing the clean electricity produced on-site at a fixed price, eliminating the need for high upfront investment and ongoing maintenance costs.

The topic of electricity consumption and self-generation has been on our minds for some time, but until now, there wasn't a solution that we could meaningfully integrate with our greenhouses. When I saw Voltiris' completely new PV system, I saw for the first time a product that I could also envision for our company.
