Voltiris launches its first solar project in France at CATE, backed by the region’s leading cooperatives
Located in Saint-Pol-de-Léon, at the heart of Brittany’s vegetable and horticultural region, the CATE (Comité d’Action Technique et Économique) is a professional syndicate uniting Brittany’s vegetable and horticulture organizations since 1965. As a key hub for high-tech greenhouse agriculture in France, the CATE serves as Brittany’s premier test center for validating innovative solutions in this field.
In 2024, Voltiris launched its first project in France at the CATE greenhouse, successfully cultivating tomatoes using its advanced solar technology. This initiative is supported by Brittany’s major cooperatives—including Prince de Bretagne, Solarenn, Savéol, Les Maraîchers d’Armor, Le Potager de Jade, Cerafel, and SICA—and aligns perfectly with the sector’s commitment to phasing out fossil fuels and accelerating the energy transition.
