Voltiris Completes Bell Pepper Trial with Delphy IC — Download the White Paper

Voltiris is pleased to announce the release of its new white paper presenting the results of the 2024 bell pepper trial conducted at the Delphy Improvement Centre in the Netherlands. The study offers a clear demonstration of how spectral-filtering solar technology can improve crop performance while supporting more sustainable greenhouse operations.

The trial ran from April to November 2024 and compared two identical compartments—one equipped with Voltiris modules and one without. The results show that the Voltiris system reduced plant temperatures by an average of 4°C during sunny periods, helping to lower heat stress and create a more stable growing environment. Crop Advisor Jeroen Zwinkels noted that these cooler conditions could enable higher ventilation and screen thresholds, improving CO₂retention and overall plant development.

The improved climate translated into stronger fruit performance. Peppers grown under Voltiris modules maintained more consistent fruit weight throughout the season and extended the harvest window, ultimately achieving a 9% increase in class I production compared with the reference compartment.

Beyond the agronomic results, the white paper highlights the system’s ability to generate renewable energy. Voltiris modules can produce up to 340MWh of clean electricity per hectare annually, offering growers a meaningful way to reduce energy costs while lowering their environmental footprint.

The white paper is available for download in English, Dutch, German, and French.
