Voltiris had the honor of of welcoming 79 partners, investors, and friends to Meier Gemüse’s greenhouse in Rütihof, Switzerland, to celebrate a global first — the launch of a hectare-scale solar installation based on spectral filtering. The installation showcases how renewable energy and greenhouse cultivation can thrive together.
With 1,736 Voltiris modules already in operation, the system generates nearly 1 MWh of clean energy per day — all while supporting advanced tomato cultivation. The installation was completed in merely four weeks, without interrupting production.

"I noticed that we came easier through the hot summer season than my other grower friends. The bumble bees work well and positive insect population is great. And indeed we need to irrigate less thanks to the lower temperature on hot days."
— Toni Suter, Head Grower at Meier Gemüse.
The event offered guests an inside look at the installation and the technology powering it. But beyond the innovation itself, the day was about collaboration and shared purpose. The success at Meier Gemüse is more than a milestone. It’s proof that a new way of integrating renewable energy in greenhouses is not only possible, but powerful. By aligning the needs of plants, growers, and the planet, Voltiris is helping agriculture take a decisive step toward energy independence and sustainability.
